From left to right: Kayla Karvonen, MD; Nicki Bush, PhD; Brandi Gates-Burgess, IBCLC; and Dayna Long, MD.

Our mission to create better experiences and outcomes in pediatric care are supported by our research. Research shows how racially concordant healthcare can improve outcomes. The BLOOM Study's focus is on patient and family experiences and outcomes in BLOOM in order to determine where the difference lies. The Mirror Study focuses on the experience of racially concordant providers when serving their community directly. Both these studies work in tandem to improve patient and provider experiences overall. Our goal with our research is to understand how we can best support every member of our community.
